Next year’s inaugural ESR (European Series Road Racing) Supersport Championship, will grace two of Europe’s biggest, most followed road races, Imatranajo (18th-20th June) and the Briggs Equipment Northwest 200 (10th-15th May).
Both boasting racing heritage times a trillion, all those involved with the newest, widely publicised roads circuits-based Championship, are delighted to be trekking back to the Triangle course and Jarno Saarinen Circuit Imatra.
The brainchild of twice IRRC Supersport Champion Laurent Hoffmann, the burgeoning European Series Road Racing concept, looks set for extra growth in 2027, building upon this year’s introductory season.
During his Mountain Course racing return at the Manx Grand Prix, Hoffmann who ended series runner-up to Hoffmann by MRP team-mate, protégé Fedrik Matthys, spoke to Road Racing News about ESR’s well received prologue.
“It went well the whole year, we started off from scratch, and we will see what happens, see how popular it gets but by the end of the year it was immense.
Every race was fully booked, full grids everywhere, no red flags, no big crashes so that was really important for our start off, but it went well, so I’m really happy.”
