Those-trackside today at Dymokury, were witness to one of the all-time great races on Czech roads, as Matej Vit, IRRC Supersport Championship leader Marek Cerveny jostled it out for Supersport A race honours.
Never separated by more than 0.480 of a second, 25 times IRRC race winner Cerveny grabbed the initial advantage, holding first till lap 6 when race pole sitter Vit occupied P1.
Vit continued to hold at bay Cerveny’s attentions, as the 16-lap encounter entered its’ final proceedings.
By lap 14, Cerveny had re-taken the lead and was looking good to secure race spoils.
The 16th, final lap provided drama, Supersport racing of the absolute highest quality.
Post an extra, last gasp push of speed, determination, LoStav-Racing Team’s Vit managed to overhaul Cerveny for race victory, emerging victorious at the chequered flag by only 0.064 of a second!
An equally engrossing battle for third culminated with former Czech Roads 250 Champion, Wolfgang Schuster, getting the better of Team Schleizer Dreieck’s Sebastian Frotscher.
Karel Brandtner placed fifth as Martin Hulin, David Hanzalik, Tobias Grunzinger, Jiri Pilar, Patrik Hemerka finalised the opening ten finishers.
