Dubliner Mountain Thunder Street Races – Round Up

The 2017 Dubliner Mountain Thunder Street Races, saw many of New Zealand’s leading roads exponents excel around the short but challenging roads course based in Methven.

Reigning feature race winner Andrew Rudd was the dominant force in the Supermoto races, whilst Vince Burrell proved the force to beat in the Classics/Pre 72 encounters.

Additional race winners included Chris McMeeken (Pre 82/Pre 89 F3), Jonny Lewis (Superlites/Pro Twins), Phillip Mair (F4/Development) and John Rawcliffe (Pre 89 F1/Pre 96).

Dan McKenzie was victorious in the opening Formula Methven/Bears race, as he held off a determined challenge from Ryan Bradshaw, Michael Lee finalised the top three finishers.

Sadly the meeting was cancelled due to a fatal incident which happened at 12:50 PM New Zealand time. Road Racing News sends it’s deepest condolences to the family and friends of the rider involved.
