Cock O’The North: Sunday Races Summary

Cock O’The North: Sunday Races Summary
Lap records, lap records, lap records were the order of the day covering day two of Cock O’The North affiliated competition.

Before an unfortunate incident in the second feature race stint, created by a component failure Super Twins race 2 winner Rob Hodson took the record Twins lap accolade and was also inside the existing Classic Superbike record time.

Dean Harrison who got the better of Hodson for yesteryear Superbike R2 triumph, set new outright Classic SBK, Supersport lap records, via respective lap times of 1:47.623, 1:44.677 seconds.

The Bradford ace, almost now at 110 Oliver’s Mount race wins, collected eight race wins from eight race starts across the weekend.

Joey Thompson, Richie Welsh, Grant Whitaker completed 250, 400, CB 500 victory hat-tricks.

Jamie Kelman also enjoyed race wins x3 in the Supermono category.

Same notion to the past weekend’s Sidecar tours de force, Steve Ramsden/Matty Ramsden.

Jack Worth, Jacque Foley joined the Scarborough winners circle as did Marcus ‘Spartacus’ Simpson.

Embroiled in arguably Sunday’s top race, Super Twins race 2, Simpson held off Gary McCoy for a famous first Scarborough victory, which also helped him take overall Twins class honours.

I think overall an extremely positive first Cock O’The North since 2017, one that did not disappoint in yielding record speeds, top weather, albeit a bit windy.

A chilled-out atmosphere and Dean Harrison at his absolute electrifying best.
