Backing up his pre-race favourite status, Mitch Rees became the third member of the Rees family after dad Tony, brother Damon to claim the prestigious Robert Holden Memorial feature race title at the ‘Southern Hemisphere’s Isle of Man’, the Cemetery Circuit Races.
Victorious in the prior F1, New Zealand TT races, showpiece race honours were gained in comprehensive fashion by Rees, who was piloting a Freddie Spencer replica liveried Honda mount.
Post nine laps of the narrow Cemetery Circuit, Rees took P1 by almost eight seconds over top chaser, NZ TT Supersport winner Rogan Chandler.
Fellow Supersport front runner David Hall took third whilst positions fourth, fifth went respectively to Morgan McLaren Wood, SJ Cavell.
Rounding out the first ten finishers were Dwayne Bishop, Jonny Lewis, Luke Riley, Mark Perry and Formula Greymouth victor Heath Botica.
Added classified finishers were Ben Tippins and 44 plate holder Marcus Read Bloomfield.
