Established Supersport front runner Ilja Caljouw, is steadfastly setting his sights on IRRC title glory in 2024.
Once again with the Hengelo based Performance Racing Achterhoek team, Caljouw remains YZF R6 Yamaha mounted for next year’s IRRC campaign.
Supersport Championship runner-up in 2021, third best this year, the dream of outright series success burns brightly.
Commenting recently about next season, he said via Performance Racing Achterhoek’s official website:
“2023 was not a super season for me, at the beginning of 2023 we were still in a reasonable position but the crash in Schleiz and problems with the material in Horice did not help and I lost the connection.
I’m happy to be back on the road with PRA in 2024. In Frohburg we were a lot closer to the top, not close enough but the gap was manageable.
I hope that in 2024 we can find the final details that can take us all the way to the front of the field.
I would like to compete for the title, and I am convinced that this should be possible. Everything will have to go well, but that applies to everyone.”
