Around A Pound Tandragee 100: Preview – Part 2

Outside of the four stroke classes, high quality, compelling, enthralling action is also a guarantee within the yesteryear machinery, 125/Moto 3, Lightweight 400 and Junior/Senior Support classes at the 2019 Around A Pound Tandragee 100.

Yesteryear machinery wise, standout entrants for the Phillip Riddell Memorial – Classic Championship Race, include Irish roads legend Barry Davidson.

Tenth on the all time Irish Road Race winners list, Davidson has enjoyed sustained success over the past decade aboard a variety of great sounding, immaculately prepared steeds.

One of the prime favourites for overall Classic honours at Tandragee, additional leading yesteryear class exponents entered include Richard Ford, Philip Shaw, Brian Mateer, John Leigh Pemberton, Chris McGahan and former Senior Manx GP winner Mark Parrett.

Looking towards 125/Moto 3 competition, the pre race favourite has to be Faraldo Racing’s Derek McGee, who was in untouchable form at Cookstown.

Amongst those though capable of pushing the current Duke Road Race Rankings champion, and contending at minimum for podium placing’s include the highly respected Nigel Moore, Gary Dunlop and Melissa Kennedy.

Keep an eye as well on Tandragee newcomer Sam Grief, who pilots Paul Robinson’s proven Moto 3 Honda.

Running alongside the 125, Moto 3 mounts, the Lightweight 400 class has attracted a small but none the less quality entry, which includes Paul Gartland, Paul ‘Potchy’ Williams, Stephen Morrison and David Howard.

We must not forget as well that Forgotten Era class honours are also up for grabs. Gareth Keys who featured within the Road Riders TV series, starts for many favourite for Forgotten Era victory spoils.

Rising stars, up coming stars, next gen racers, grass roots racers, are just some of the terms to sum up the large group of racers set to battle for Junior Support, Senior Support honours at Tandragee.

Junior Support wise, ones to watch will include Patch Racing’s Davy Graham, 2013 Lightweight Manx GP winner Alistair Haworth, John Cahill, Chris Meyer, Stephen ‘Cargo’ Carr, Aaron Mellish, RJ Woolsey and Adrian Cleary.

Standout entrants within the Senior Support field include race winners at Cookstown, Tommy Henry and Ben Plant, Czech star Veronika Hankocyova, Dermot Cleary, Italian newcomer Enrico Rocchi, Kevin Baker and seasoned Manx GP exponent Stuart McCann.

With such a diverse pool of talent at this years Around A Pound Tandragee 100, you are guaranteed top draw, world class competition, across all classes.

The stage is set for two compelling days of roads competition, at an event which year on year, grows in stature, largely down to the hard working organisers, the North Armagh Motorcycle & Car Club Ltd.

Plus also due to the continued backing from a group of enthusiastic event sponsors, including of course title sponsors Around A Pound who have helped this year take the prize money total at the meeting, to an impressive overall prize fund of almost £11,000 pounds.
