2026 Manx GP: Johnny Stewart’s Historic Four Wins In A Week

Johnny Stewart enshrined his name into the Mountain Course racing history books today, becoming the first rider in the event’s 103-year history, to net four race wins in a week.

The Galashiels rider completed this afternoon after winning the earlier red-flagged Carole Nash Junior race, the full set of MGP race crowns, hauling with a new race record to boot, the big one, the Okell’s Senior contest.

Never led, Stewart (race fastest lap – 122.038 mph – 18 minutes 32.997 seconds) the final ‘Tommy Club’ member took home victory spoils by 35.823 over Eddy Wormald (final lap – lap speed – 120.724 mph).

Speaking post-race, the MGP history maker stated:

“It wasn’t expected, to win one it’s mega never mind four, it’s unbelievable to be honest. Tried all week just to keep consistent all the time, I was working myself up at lunch time, I started to get a bit worried, a bit stressed out.

But calmed myself down, had a word with David McArthur, calmed me down and I just set off and just felt like it was qualifying, just do what I was doing start of the week, just keep it consistent, just keep consistent the whole year just to try and make it count.

I’ve put everything I could into this year to try and try maybe open a door next year, if it doesn’t we tried it was kind of a do or die moment, put everything into it.”

“There are a hundred guys like me needing a bit of help, I would love more help, doing as much as I can myself to keep the costs down.

Friends and family helped me out with funding and stuff, it’s unbelievable how much people want to support you when you’re doing well, it’s good.

Can’t thank the Cringle boys anymore, that was pretty special to even get that opportunity to sit on that bike was good.

They have loads of knowledge with suspension set up and stuff, I just wing it, if it feels ok to me, I’ll just ride it and hang on, so we’ll go to the Gold Cup (Scarborough) and get back on the old Kawasaki and see what we can do.”
