IRRC Chimay: Wendel Beats Williams To Sportbike Qualifying Success

TMG21 Racing Team’s Thomas Wendel, grabbed IRRC Sportbike qualifying spoils at Circuit de Chimay, after a seesaw Q2 session.

Reigning Supersport & Junior Manx Grand Prix winner Jamie Williams, who completed just one lap within opening qualifying explorations, had taken provisional pole, before German rider Wendel posted the pole setting time, not to be-surpassed of 1 minute 49.721 seconds.

Williams (NCE Racing – Aprilia / 1.50.288), lapping in the low 1.50 seconds bracket ended second quickest, 0.230 in front of fellow co-IRRC Sportbike Championship leader post Hengelo, Wally Jacobs (Racing Team Block – Aprilia / 1.50.518).

Respective, fourth to sixth speediest were Patrik Serbousek (Motoklub Vecna Jizda-AZ PNEU Moto Team-Powered by VK Racing – Aprilia / 1.53.710), Cristophe Carlier (1.54.216) and Alexandre Dumoutier (Dumout’ Racing Team – Aprilia / 1.55.216).

Leading non-Aprilia vaulted competitor, in fact the only one, Enzo Ljubisavlievic (Lightning Racing Team – Kawasaki / 1.57.402), finished ninth fastest.
