Since its’ inauguration in 2010, the TT Privateers Championship title is a prized possession for non-manufacturer supported racers.
The latest rider to add this honour to their racing CV, following James McBride (2010), Ian Mackman (2011), Dan Stewart (2012), Lee Johnston (2013), Ivan Lintin (2014), Dan Cooper (2015), the much missed Dan Hegarty (2016), Horst Saiger (2017), Davey Todd (2018), Jamie Coward (2019-2024), Jim Hind (2025) is Bishop Castle’s Barry Furber.
From the five solo contests held during an inclement weather, impacted race week, Furber (DC Motorcycles Newtown/Robinson and Sons Timber Ltd) collected P24, P19 x2, P17, P8 finishes.
Privateers Championship success rewards the Northwest 200, Manx Grand Prix podium finisher’s consistency, ambition to rich new heights around the other worldly, Mountain Course.
As previously outlined to Road Racing News, his next roads scene outings are at Tandragee, Billown (Southern 100) and Armoy.
