TT 2026: News From The Paddock 3

Nearing one hundred TT starts, Mark Parrett has worked out that approximately, once he reaches his 100th TT race start, he will have clocked up 48,000 Mountain Course racing miles, equivalent to nearly two times circumnavigating the world.

Adelaide ace David Johnson is now aboard one of Team ILR with Frog Vehicle Developments Paton’s, for the Carole Nash Sportbike races.

Dafabet Racing’s Michael Evans after an incident at Greeba on Wednesday evening, has been passed fit to continue competing at TT 2026.

Famous faces attending the TT in recent days, have included nine times F1 race winner Oscar Piastri, his manager, 2015 WEC Champion, twice Monaco Grand Prix winner Mark Webber, two times Supersport TT race winner Gary Johnson and 2009 Senior TT winner Steve Plater.  

125 Post Classic Pre-TT Classic lap-record holder Owen Monaghan is planning to transition from Manx GP to TT rider ranks in 2027.

Michael Dunlop MBE headed the Sportbike, Supersport and Superbike speed trap leaderboards on Wednesday.

Qualifying week pace setter Dean Harrison stated post Wednesday evening’s qualifying competition, that he feels he is in a comfortable place, with all Honda Racing UK bikes.

“I’m comfortable on all three bikes, I enjoyed riding today but found myself rushing a few sections.

I know if I wind it back a little, I’ll be quicker. I’ll have a rest tomorrow and keep chipping away on Friday.”

Twenty-six racers have to date during qualifying week, set lap speeds past the 125-mph lap barrier.
