2026 NW200 Preview – Part 3 – Super Twin/Sportbike Races

Road Racing News, 2026 Northwest 200 preview series, finalises today by detailing the Super Twin/Sportbike field.

Alastair Seeley will be hoping to weave his magic, as the ‘Wee Wizard’ joins the Twins/Sportbike fray.

Targeting NW200 victory number thirty, the Carrickfergus legend rides Binch Pro Racing’s 3B Construction title sponsored RS660 Aprilia.

Back in February, Seeley stated who he feels could prove his biggest class challengers:

“The Super twin class is a fiercely competitive class, and I know that Richard Cooper will be having a good go again and with riders like Paul Jordan, Peter Hickman, Adam McLean and Jeremy McWilliams in the class, there will be plenty of competition.”

As projected above, five times category winner Richard Cooper (Powerslide Suzuki – astride Suzuki’s latest GSX8R incarnation), Paul Jordan (Jackson Racing Powered by Prosper2 – Aprilia), Peter Hickman, 62 years young Jeremy McWilliams (Flitwick Motorcycles/SMV – R7 Yamaha) deputising for Adam McLean are all principal race winning candidates.

The same distinction is applicable to Jamie Coward, focusing solely on competition tilts with Milenco by Padgett’s S1-R Paton.

Don’t discount either Michael Sweeney (MSR – RS660 Aprilia), Barry Furber, Christian Elkin from standing on the top step of the podium.

AJ Venter (TH Racing – RS660 Aprilia), Darryl Tweed (Stanley Stewart Racing by Novogen – 660 Triumph), James Chawke (RL Racing – RS660 Aprilia), Joey Thompson (TH Racing – RS660 Aprilia), Kris Duncan will all be aiming to pick up striking race finishes.

Triangle course newcomers out to make their mark include:

Franco Bourne (Team ILR with Frog Vehicle Developments – S1-R Paton), 2025 Ulster Road Race Senior Support Champion Sean Brolly, Lee Hara (FAO Racing).

Caomhan Canny, Lee Osprey and Southern 100 Super Twins lap-record holder, Rob Hodson (SMT Racing – S1-R Paton).

Earlier in the year, the Wigan racer admitted a dream result next month, would be gracing the rostrum.

“The absolute dream now would be a podium finish on the Paton, but I know that is a tall order especially when I have-to learn a new circuit.

I’ve never experienced the slipstreaming there is at the Northwest either so if I was going home with a top five in the Twins race and finishing in the top ten of the other races, I would be happy because I am up against the best riders in the world.”

As across all classes during the 2026 Briggs Equipment Northwest 200, the Maxwell Freight Services-John M Paterson Super Twin/Sportbike races wont’ fail to thrill, pulsate, illustrate fully real road racing’s unique, otherworldly character.
