Completing a race wins quadruple, Michael Browne is the new Armoy ‘Race of Legends’ Champion.
Browne’s path to one of Irish road racing’s most prestigious prizes, saw him work his way to the front, having held third at the end of opening lap action.
Passing towards lap three’s culmination, lap one, lap two leader Paul Jordan (Jackson Racing Powered by Prosper – Honda), the Cork rider sped off into the distance, lapping in the high, low 1.41 seconds’ bracket.
As final lap circulations closed, Browne (only the fourth different Race of Legends winner) and the Boyce Precision Engineering by Russell Racing Honda finished 4.313 in front of ‘Man of The Meeting’ Jordan.
Earlier second place occupier Michael Sweeney took third, his fifth rostrum finish from six race starts, after holding off a determined Conor Cummins (BE/RK Racing – BMW).
Jamie Coward (KTS Racing Powered by Steadplan – BMW) was not far behind in fifth whilst Phil Crowe usurped Marcus Simpson (WH Racing Powered by Dynobike – Honda) for sixth on the last lap.
Rapid Armoy first-timers Kevin Keyes (Daracore Racing – Yamaha), Erno Kostamo (RVS Motorsport – BMW) were next up in eighth and ninth.
Rathkeale’s James Chawke (Lyonara Cold Stores/Chawkie Racing – BMW) gained tenth whilst in total twenty-two racers made it to the chequered flag.
