2024 Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix competition won’t contain the 2023, 2024 IRRC Superbike Champions Lukas Maurer and David Datzer, after both didn’t receive event invites.
Macau GP entry requirements for 2024, are determined via racers recent results, performances at the Northwest 200 and TT Races.
Datzer, Maurer both endured challenging Mountain Course, Triangle Course explorations this year but surely past achievements on the notorious Guia Circuit count for something?
Germany’s speediest TT competitor Datzer was event runner-up in 2022, third in 2023 whilst Swiss ace Maurer has taken fourth, sixth place finishes.
Career credentials, previous meeting results don’t seem to matter though in relation to attaining entries.
Across social media, it’s clear various road racing insiders don’t agree with the cards dealt to two of Western Europe’s supreme roads scene talents.
I concur with many of the comments, I’ll add as well that this entry requirement policy based on NW200/TT results is in my opinion short-sighted, not taking into account the wider roads scene hemisphere.
