70th Scarborough Gold Cup: Ramsdens Showcase Prominent Skillset

Established amongst the foremost three wheeling Oliver’s Mount exponents, the father, son duo of Steve Ramsden/Matty Ramsden showcased their prominent Scarborough racing skillset during the latest Gold Cup meeting.

Looking in decent fettle during practice, qualifying sessions, they stated before racing took place:

“We were going well, pushing it hard, 0.2 off the Birchalls (Ben & Tom).”

Currently the sixth fastest driver/passenger partnership at Scarborough, last weekend’s race action would see the West Yorkshire duo bank four successive top three finishes.

The fourth, final Sidecars encounter saw them contend across early stages for first, before settling for a second place finish behind Lee Crawford/Jake Lowther.

This result took their top three finishes total at Scarborough post 2010 to 32.

Potential Anglesey Grand event entrants, driver Ramsden’s succinct response to when asked about whether he will be back racing on the roads was:

“What do you think! Same again next year.”

The Ramsden’s went onto thank all their loyal sponsors.

“Thanks to all the sponsors, too many to mention, Harris Motorcycles, Greenwood Groundworks and Andy
Hayes who helped get us here (Oliver’s Mount).”
