After countless near misses, eight times finishing runner-up, accumulating thus far fifteen podium finishes, could tomorrow’s Briggs Equipment Northwest 200, finally see Honda Racing UK’s Dean Harrison join the NW200 winners circle, complete the roads ‘Majors’ triple set (TT/NW200/Ulster GP victories)?
Third fastest in Thursday night’s Superstock and Supersport qualifying circulations, SBK Q2 saw Harrison given extra confidence thanks to subtle machine alterations, bank pole-position for Saturday’s six-lap races.
Surmising last evening’s Triangle course action, the five times TT winner said:
“Tough conditions to deal with out there. No two laps were ever really the same because of the wind and the rain.
I pushed where I could and the team were rewarded with a fastest time on one bike and two third place positions on the others.
It’s difficult to explain how exciting it is dealing with wheel spin at 180 mph here, but that’s what we did. I’m confident and relaxed, maybe because we had a good start to the year at Oulton Park, I’m not sure.
If we get the right weather, the racing is going to be pretty-special on Saturday, my aim is to give the team what they deserve.”
