Added into this morning’s Mid Antrim 150 race schedule, the MJF Builders Supersport Non-Championship contest, vaulted into fruition at 11:04 AM.
Pole-sitter, Michael Dunlop MBE (MD Racing/Scars Racing – Ducati), grabbed the hole-shot, quickly broke clear, opening a 3.496 lead over Kevin Keyes (Daracore Racing), as lap one wrapped up.
History, history and more history, surmised lap two with Dunlop MBE setting not only a new SSP lap-record but also a new outright Clough Circuit lap-record of 1 minute 54.312 seconds.
TT wins record-holder Dunlop MBE, record breaking injection of speed, left him already with a virtually unassailable race-leading advantage.
Closing in on twenty seconds ahead before lap five, Dunlop MBE, expanding his Irish road race wins collection to 140, final gap to top challenger, Kells Supersport race winner Keyes, was an incredible 35.834 seconds!
Sean Brolly captured third, Neil Kernohan took a hard fought fourth place finish in front of Lee Hara and Marcus Simpson (D&D Buckley Racing – Triumph).
