2026 Manx GP: Parker Car Transport Racing Announce Participation

Oliver’s Mount Steve Henshaw Gold Cup podium finishers Parker Car Transport Racing, hope to grace the 2026 Manx Grand Prix, running Don Gilbert on R9 Yamaha metal.

Originally, intending to sample this year’s TT Races, Gerry Parker’s team was-forced into a change of plans following Horsham rider Gilbert’s incident at Church Corner during the opening Superbike Northwest 200 race, resulting in shoulder, thumb injuries.

With TT plans now on hold till 2027, the 2024 Barry Sheene Classic feature race winner now hopes to excel (fitness permitting) at the Manx GP, improve upon eighth, fifth place finishes from 2025 Supersport, Senior contests.

News Reaction:

Don Gilbert:

“I am absolutely devastated that I won’t be racing at the TT this year with the Parker lads. We were having a really strong race in the first North West 200 Superbike race on the Parker Car Transport Racing stock Yamaha R1.

We were up into the top 15 before crashing out on the final lap at church bends. Where I took a hefty-Wack and come away with a couple of nasty breaks.

A change of plan to compete in the Manx Grand Prix is now my target to get fully fit for.”
