By Intertwined with the fifth, final round of ‘Championnat Suisse de la Montagne’, the sixth, penultimate round of this year’s ‘Championnat de France de la Montagne’ commenced over the past weekend at Frangy hill climb track on public roads, organised by ‘X Sports Game Crew’ in France near to the Switzerland border.
Superbike winner, first overall Huge Grange-Martin (0.59.798) is first man in history to lap the Frangy time-trial course inside one minute, surpassing the previous record time acquired by Amalric Blanc (1.00.108 from 2021).
Supersport category winner, weekend runner-up behind Grange-Martin, 391 plate-holder, Brest’s Pierre Yves Bian aboard Swan liveried 765 RS Triumph metal supplied by PHR Performance (Peter Hickman Racing) (1.00.375) bested his own SSP track record in 2025 (1.00.751).
Quick re-cap of his roads’ scene achievements to date, 2021 IRRC Supersport Champion, the first French solo TT podium finisher of this century (TT 2023 – second – Super Twins Race Two), 2022 Northwest 200 rostrum finisher and Frohburger Dreieck Super Twins lap-record holder.
Another French rider, Joffray Lelievre from Saint-Hippolyte, ended runner-up in Superbike (1.00.797) and Supersport (1.01.190) classes at Frangy, wrapped up Swiss Hill Climb Road Race Championship titles x2.
2026 Southern 100 exponents Steven Bellavoine (P4 – SBK – 1.01.629 / P8 – SSP – 1.02.611) and Loic Sirot (P13 – SSP – 1.03.728) banked solid, consistent results whilst fastest female solo, Sidecar competitors were Oceane Ferry (1.05.651 – Promo 2 class) and Lalie Morel (1.04.096 – three wheeling-winner aside Cyril Vinet).
For those not already aware, the final, seventh French Hill Climb Road Race Championship round takes place this month at Merleac in Brittany (19th-20th September), the same time as CIVS Finale at Saline-Volterra, Schallenberg Classic hill-climb in Switzerland and IRRC finale at Frohburger Dreieck.
