Earlier this month, a top ten finisher x2 on debut at the Southern 100, Seppe Noel back on home soil this week at Chimay, grasped IRRC Sportbike qualifying victory.
Noel’s Q1 pace setting time of 1 minute 48.175 seconds, was-not surpassed in second qualifying, topped again by the Belgian rider.
Via the tiniest of margins, 0.035! Jamie Williams (NCE Racing – Aprilia) ended second speediest.
IRRC Sportbike Championship leader Wally Jacobs (Racing Team Block – Aprilia) finished third, almost 1.3 seconds slower than fellow Championship contender Williams.

IRRC Supersport Q2:
Marek Cerveny’s IRRC Supersport hegemony continued throughout IRRC Supersport qualifying at Circuit de Chimay.
No.1 from both SSP qualifying circulations, Cerveny’s Q2 leading time of 1.41.212 seconds, neared the record middleweight category time at Chimay, presently held by Adam McLean.
Nearest pace wise to the all-time most winning IRRC competitor in history, was Never Be Clever Racing’s Kevin De Haan, who lapped in the mid 1.41’s range.

BeNeLux Trophy/ESR Superbike Q2:
Whilst overall fastest, second quickest racer reigns went to Ouri Bikkems and Yan Ancia, one could not but fixate on Circuit de Chimay debutant Peter Hickman’s performance.
Third rapidest, No.1 ESR (European Series Road Racing) pilot from second qualifying, 14 times TT winner Hickman riding the 8TEN Racing BMW but entered under the MRP Racing banner, looks more than a good tip to front run in tomorrow’s nine-lap 1000cc races.
ESR title favourites Fedrik Matthys, Laurent Hoffmann, ended this afternoon’s big bike qualifying burst fourth, seventh fastest respectively with Switzerland’s top road racer Lukas Maurer, Mike Parmentiner between them.
