Ireland’s first Gold Cup Champion, Michael Browne set on route to blue-riband race glory, the event’s swiftest lap, circulating the 2.43 miles long Oliver’s Mount race circuit in 1 minute 49.034 seconds.
TH Racing’s Joey Thompson (1.49.359), SMT Racing’s Rob Hodson (1.49.452), new Parker Transport Racing recruit Don Gilbert (1.49.847) joined Browne in registering sub 1.50 second lap times.
In total, thirty-seven solo competitors popped in lap-times below 2 minutes whilst three Sidecars crews also attained this feat.
