“It’s absolutely awesome, incredible experience” 2024 Oliver’s Mount 400cc Champion William Grant’s immediate reaction to his first Manx Grand Prix racing adventure.
‘The Sherrif’ renowned for his racing vlogs on You Tube, completed his first MGP race yesterday placing thirtieth in the Super Twins race despite throttle body issues.
“Very happy to make the finish that in itself is a massive achievement, the problem that we had is that the throttle body had basically just come out but even with that problem and to do the lap time that we did 105, very happy with that.”
Looking towards Monday’s Junior race, the Cowton Racing rider stated:
“No real expectations, I would like to go quicker, hopefully climb a little bit further up the leader board but just go out there and finish that would be another good result.”
Issuing a massive thank you to suitors Cowton Racing, Grant confirmed to take part in next month’s Steve Henshaw Gold Cup on home soil at Oliver’s Mount, said:
“The support I have got off them is just brilliant, obviously the knowledge and the expertise that them-lads have got, you can’t buy that kind of knowledge, I would not have been able to do any of this, this year without them, so massive thank you.”
Team-mate this season to Franco Bourne, Grant who is targeting stepping up to Supersport machinery for selected roads events next year, stated the following about working alongside the former works Honda BSB rider.
“He’s absolutely rapid so lot to turn from him but he’s a BSB rider so, go quick or go home!”
