By Ducati exotica factor in spades, is Sam West’s Classic TT machinery fillip, with the Wilmslow rider astride 916 Ducati apparatus, prepping similar equipment for 2025 Superbike TT winner Davey Todd.
“It has caused a bit of a stir having Davey on the other bike, built two identical bikes one for me and one for a different top rider but the boss the guy who owns the bikes actually- changed who that rider would be.
Found out only a week before the event that it would be Davey, I am pleased with that, Davey’s good to work with, he has been good so far.”
Outlining the technical outlay of Prosperity Racing’s Ducati’s, the fourteen times top fifteen TT finisher stated:
“All the Ducati’s on the grid are 996cc because the 916 racing bikes were actually, 996cc, so we don’t overbore them and anything like that.
It’s a 916, 916 road bike chassis, both of ours are actually just road bikes, fancy road bikes converted. But they are very high spec bikes, and I would like to think they are the best Ducati’s on the grid.”
“But we don’t have the three years development that our rivals have got, so we are on the backfoot in terms of direct TT knowledge, but the product should be good.
I have not gone for outright power on the engines have gone for reliability so am hoping for two finishes and if we get two finishes, they will be solid finishes.”
Given his Ducati links, is a ride at next year’s TT on the Bologna marques TT winning V2 Panigale possible?
“I have been trying to, but it has not appeared yet, I do have Ducati links.
When I first went to BSB it was with Ducati’s so I would love to return to the Ducati, that would be the dream for me.”
After Classic TT competition, West is planning to take in specified Endurance racing tilts and a couple of track-days in Spain.
Then all roads lead towards the Macau Grand Prix, where West will likely-be racing the same BMW, he jockeyed across TT 2025.
