Imatranajo organisers Motorclub Imatra, have pulled off quite the coup, enticing world’s fastest road racer Peter Hickman to the former Grand Prix venue.
Setting this month, an incredible new outright TT lap record of 136.358 mph, Hickman increased his already impeccable TT wins CV to thirteen via successive Superstock, Super Twins race 2, Senior race victories.
For his first racing tilt in Finland, the modern era international road racing star will compete under his own teams PHR Performance banner, astride 765 Triumph, M1000RR BMW tackle.
Alongside Hickman, additional high-profile Imatra newcomers include Faugheen 50 race winner, TT stalwart Brian McCormack and ex World Supersport, Never Be Clever Racing’s Rhys Hardisty and BSB participant Eemeli Lahti.
Established Imatranajo front-runners aiming for more success next month (1st-2nd July) include local hero Erno Kostamo, Super Twins TT podium finisher Pierre Yves Bian, Pauli Pekkanen, IRRC Supersport Championship leader Jorn Hamberg.
IRRC Superbike Championship leader Lukas Maurer, Didier Grams, Vincent Lonbois and Czech roads legend Marek Cerveny.
