For the first time, there was a three wheeling element incorporated into the Goodwood Members Meeting, as a Sidecar Shootout competition joined the schedule.
Sidecar giants tackling the 2.4 miles long Goodwood course included upcoming TT newcomers, Todd Ellis/Emmanuelle Clement, eight times World Champion Tim Reeves/Mark Wilkes and 14 times TT winner Ben Birchall, joined by new side kick Kevin Rousseau.
Eight teams took part in the shootout, which featured a knockout format, with just four crews qualifying for the shootout final.
Once the dust settled on the frantic action, the top driver/passenger combination outright was reigning World Champions Ellis/Clement.
Showcasing their undoubted calibre, turn of speed, they registered during the shootout final, a best lap time of 1:21.174 seconds.
Closest competitors in the knockout session, TT lap record holder Birchall/Rousseau astride their TT 2024, Hager backed Honda powered outfit, finished fourth fastest behind the Christie’s Sam & Tom, Steve Kershaw/Ryan Charlwood.
