Road Racer’s Adventures: Bears Sound of Thunder

Although purpose-built circuit based (Euromarque Motorsport Park), last weekend’s Bears Sound of Thunder extravaganza had a few touches of roads scene vibes.

Vastly, growing in experience NZ street racing aces racing included opening F1 race winner Dale Finch, Moto Euro race 3 conqueror Heath Botica and 2023 Formula Greymouth Champion, Seth Devereux.

Devereux topped the second F1 race circulation plus obtained the spoils in the Conti Cup, post a tight scrap with above showcased 17 plate holder Finch and Ashton Hughes.

Outside racing activities, fans in attendance were treated to the presence of one of the iconic, celebrated, renowned Britten machines.

Reunited with the Britten he raced during the 1994 TT Races; 1993 Formula 1 TT winner Nick Jefferies did several demo laps around Euromarque Motorsport Park.

Even now decades since it last actively competed in national, international level bike racing, John Britten’s creation still turns heads with its look, shape, engineering.
