Manx GP Top 6: Iain Hill

Eighth within the 2000 Newcomers Lightweight race, vastly respected MGP stalwart Iain Hill is next to take part in Road Racing News, rising in popularity Manx GP Top 6 series.

Hill who has competed at the Wirral 100 run Brighton roads event, answers to the Mountain Course themed set of questions are as follows:

Q1: When you first competed at the Manx, what was your first initial thought of the Mountain Course?

“Oh my they really let me out to race here! With morning practice and the fog it was an amazing experience trying to recall the warnings and circuit was so mentally tough.”

Q2: Most memorable Manx GP bike?

“My CBR600RR (Honda), it’s a nice easy bike to ride without being too knife-edged in terms of power range etc.”

Q3: Most treasured memory from the Manx?

“Racing with friend Jason Heritage, side by side for what felt like four laps. We both got our first laps over 110 mph average and I got my first replica (and I beat him).”

Q4: Is there one specific Manx GP competitor that you look up to?

“Anyone who throws their leg over the bike to ride the circuit deserves recognition but to those who have helped me out along the way to this point, you know who you are, thank you all.”

Q5: Describe the Manx GP in one word?

“Awesome”

Q6: Finally, if you could race one machine from any series, championship around the Mountain Course, what would it be?

“I’d love to race an old school 750 Superbike RC45 (Honda) or a YZF/ZXR but a proper one.”
