Heat races are to be restored into the racing program for this month’s Oliver’s Mount Spring Cup, following recent confirmation from meeting organisers.
Organisers are intending to run three five lap Supersport, two Super Twin heat races, with racers personal best lap times determining whether they will be competing in the A, B, Support class encounters.
Judging from comments posted on social media outlets, the return of race heats to Scarborough has provided a pretty mixed reaction amongst competitors.
None the less it’s another different, intriguing component added to the returning Spring Cup, which is hoped to carry a 26 race schedule.
The feature Bob Smith Spring Cup most recently won by Silicone Engineering Racing’s Dean Harrison, has an eight lap distance whilst the Classic Superbike races are also set for eight laps around the iconic, illustrious road race circuit that is Oliver’s Mount, Scarborough.
