Guy Martin’s New Challenge

Guy Martin has a new challenge for the 2015 road racing season competing on BMW’s for the first time. Once again the main highlight of the season is set to be the Isle of Man TT as the hugely popular rider continues his long quest for his first win on the mountain course.

2015 is all set to mark Guy’s fifth season with TAS racing. Since 2011 he has with the team secured five Ulster Grand Prix victories, two Southern 100 solo championship successes, wins at Cookstown 100, Armoy road races, Ian Watson spring cup road races and victory in the 2012 Steve Henshaw international gold cup.

Whilst on the mountain course Guy has in the last four years recorded six podium finishes which includes second place finish in 2011 senior TT finishing only seven seconds behind race winner John McGuinness.

TT 2014 proved to be another highly prodigious one for the rider who made his TT debut back in 2004. Dainese superbike TT provided the eight times Scarborough gold cup winner with second position following a determined display on Tyco Suzuki by TAS superbike.

In the Pokerstars senior TT Guy made it two podium finishes at TT 2014 achieving third place finish as he ended this years Isle of Man TT in positive fashion.

Supersport and open race victories at Armoy road races along with Dundrod 150 superbike victory and solo championship success at Southern 100 where amongst the main highlights of another scintillating years action for him.

In his road racing career to date Guy has competed on Honda’s, Yamaha’s and Suzuki’s. Competing on BMW’s will be a new challenge for the rider who claimed a momentous victory this year in exhibition class category at Pikes Peak.
