Strong Paton Challenge For Senior Classic TT

As in recent years, Paton is anticipated to have a strong challenge in the four lap Senior Classic TT.

The famous Italian marque has enjoyed 500 class success at the Classic TT, in 2013 with Olie Linsdell, 2014 with Ian Lougher and most recently last year with John McGuinness and Team Winfield.

With the 23 times TT winner ruled out through injury, Roger Winfield’s team is actively searching for the right rider to pilot the high profile mount in August, on the Mountain Course.

Joey Dunlop Championship winner Peter Hickman is tipped to be amongst the prime contenders to link up with Team Winfield.

Outside of the high spec green liveried steed, veteran Bill Swallow has recently confirmed his event entry on Paton machinery backed by John Gleve.

Still as ambitious as he’s ever been, the classic racing stalwart is targeting at minimum a top six finish.

Podium finisher in 2016, Maria Costello MBE lines up again on the Beugger Paton, aiming for a second successive rostrum placing.

Having returned to the top step of the podium at the TT Races in June, courtesy of Michael Rutter’s stellar display aboard the SC Project Paton, the iconic Italian brand has more than a firm chance of more Mountain Course glory at the Classic TT.

In concluding this article, it’s worth noting Paton’s current record on the most famous road racing circuit in the world; they have at present seven TT victories, plus in total 13 podium finishes, an excellent record for the plucky manufacturer.
