By Showcasing that he’s not only on top form aboard 1000cc machinery, Peter Hickman made it two wins from two starts today at the MCE Insurance Ulster Grand Prix, winning a quite pulsating opening Supersport race.
There was nothing in it throughout between up to six riders, it was TROOPER Triumph mounted Hickman though who hit the front at the right time, just holding off 34 times international road race winner Bruce Anstey, by 0.188 of a second, to seal a third Ulster GP victory.

Lee Johnston made it two Padgetts machines in the top three, holding off stern challenges from Silicone Engineering Racing’s Dean Harrison and going through the pain barrier, William Dunlop, to claim the final spot on the podium.
Michael Dunlop was sixth, Conor Cummins seventh, Derek McGee a very creditable eighth, Radcliffe’s Racing’s Jamie Coward finished ninth as MSS/Hotties backed Adam McLean finalised the top ten finishers.
Outside of the top ten, you couldn’t help but be impressed with 12th place finisher, Joe Thompson, who lead the newcomers challenge in front of fellow next generation roads competitor, 17th placed Davey Todd.
