Imatranajo: First Practice Report

Imatranajo: First Practice Report

Bright sunny conditions greeted competitors, for the opening practice sessions of the 2017 Imatranajo meeting.

Unfortunately due to problems, with the live timing system online, it’s not known at present as to who has set the pace within the Open Supersport, Open Superbike and IRRC Supersport classes.

The only thus far confirmed pace setters from today, include Timo Kallio/Urpo Rasimus, who headed the opening Sidecar practice session

Riders to gain their first laps of the iconic Imatra circuit, included Penz 13 BMW’s high profile trio, Lightweight TT winner Michael Rutter, Alex Polita and Dan Kneen fastest in IRRC Superbike practice, who has gelled exceptionally quickly with Finland’s foremost real roads venue.

Speaking about his first taste of the fast flowing roads of Imatra, Dan stated via his Facebook page:

“‪Good first day Imatranajo, the track is good but quite dirty at the moment so no grip, ended up fastest in the last session though so ok.

Enjoying riding the penz 13.com BMW, testing the Touratech suspension out too so learning with that.”‬

Alongside a full day of qualifying action, four races are scheduled tomorrow at Imatranajo, which include the opening IRRC Supersport and Superbike races.
