300 Curves Of Gustav Havel: Marek Cerveny Wins Thrilling Superbike Qualifying Battle

Marek Cerveny (Wepol/Safemetal Racing) won a thrilling battle for Superbike pole position, following an enthralling second qualifying session at the 55th 300 Curves of Gustav Havel meeting, at Horice.

The twice IRRC Supersport champion’s time of 2 minutes 16.151 seconds, was just enough to hold off fellow IRRC great Didier Grams, for the top spot in qualifying.

2012 Newcomers A Manx GP winner Kamil Holan, pace setter in Q1, was not far behind in finishing third quickest aboard the McRace backed S1000RR BMW.

Lukas Maurer, Pavel Tomecek, Petr Biciste, Ales Nechvatal finished fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh fastest respectively.

Whilst the Penz 13 BMW challenge was lead by Danny Webb, as team mate Dan Kneen and Timo Schoenhals finalised the top ten in qualifying.

Additional riders to impress included GSX-R 750 Suzuki mounted Shaun Anderson and Alex Polita, who made it three Penz 13 BMW’s in the top 12 on the overall time sheets.
