2017 Manx Grand Prix Stuart Bedford’s Main Focus

The 2017 Manx Grand Prix is Stuart Bedford’s main focus for the year, as he plans to compete for the third time, at the prestigious meeting.

His Manx GP CV thus far includes lapping the Mountain Course in excess of 108 mph, plus 23rd position in the 2015 Newcomers A race.

An accomplished exponent of Billown, Stuart is planning to return to two of the Castletown based meeting’s in 2017, the Post TT Races and the hugely popular Southern 100.

Having announced last year, that he would be retiring from motorcycle racing, Stuart has had a change of heart. He now feels ready to move up a level at the Manx GP.

Commenting on his new ZX6R Kawasaki mount, plus in his own words, his extremely short retirement, Stuart said via his Instagram page, on Twitter:

“Well.. that was the shortest retirement/year out ever. I realised something finally clicked at the back end of the MGP last year, which felt more comfortable and a lot faster, and I don’t think I’m ready to jeopardise any further entries by having a year out (and I still need my replica!).

So yesterday I finally picked up the Kawasaki ZX6R, it’s a big step up from the Suzuki with a really good pedigree, a bit more top end and mid-range was the one thing I was looking for, and this has a nearly 20 bhp advantage on the old bike, so no excuses now!!

It feels so good to know I’ll be riding again this year, and at 100% commitment!!”
